Now the still lifes of the 19th century reveal a great deal about the time in which the artist lives. For example, in the first half in 19th century, many American were prosperous, and shopping in (and accumulating) things were majory pastimes. So in these paintings the comsumer oriented9 _8 p! in American society is considered ture display of goods that suggest luxury and social status. Well that also suggested with the representation of plentiful food, fragile flower and other beatiful object that in (of) natural world. Then, after the civil war and in approximately mid 19th century, the mood of the country changed. Likewise, the mood of the painting changed. For example, the artists might apply the paint roughly, to depict the group of battered old things that simply(symlolize) diffcult time, and disapperance of the good days. So let’s look at some Fight’s painting from the period, and see if you can determine where the paints were created.
