Coincident with concerns about the accelerating development and competition in our society has been a growing appreciation of the essentiality of work. although for many people, the assertion that being happy of a job is more important than high salaries seems true, as far as I am concerned, it is rather superficial to imply say like that.
Basic to work well is enjoyment. Happiness, comes from the bottom of our heart, pursued by increasingly people, is one of the most important elements for us to choose a job, and is more and more difficult to ignore. A recent study indicated that 70 percent people would not like to work in a company without happiness. At the same time, many people deem the main purpose of work in to gain happiness. In other words, if we can’t harvest happiness, if we work in an enterprise without interests, there is no motivation to work hard and well.
Although indispensable as happiness is in our work, we can not easily say being happiness of a job is more important than high salaries. First of all, we should give a definition to happiness. What is happiness are? How can we feel happy? Investigation have constantly shown that 87 percent people in china assume happiness means having one’s own house and a perfect wife or husband. As we know, the average price of the house in Beijing is 12.000 yuan per square meter, but the salary here is only 3,000 yuan per month on average. Without high salaries, how can we afford a house? How can we say we are happy? Since there is a tradition in China that it is a principle to buy a house before marriage, we can not imagine a man with a low salary could marry a pretty woman, and can feel happy deeply.
At last, we live in a world that is full of pressures which com from varies directions, including work, school, economy and so forth. In fact, people nowadays have very litter time for anything except work. the most popular way to gain happiness is consumption, such as shopping, watching movies and traveling, and all of these entertainments are need money. We share such a culture and philosophy that the more we consume, the more happiness we earn, and most people can not escape from the atmosphere. In other words, only in earning a high salary can we enjoy our life.
As is demonstrated all above, although I believe there may be a couple of advantages to choose an interesting job with happiness, I feel that earning a high salary is more important to most people.
Once we have enough money, we can afford a big house, which means a lasting happiness for Chinese. In addition, we can choose different entertainments to relaxing ourselves after a day’s hard work, which also provide us with happiness. So I don’t agree that being happiness of a job in more important than a high salary.
