How do movies or television influence people's behavior? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.

The prevelance of movies and television open a new page to our society, and it is undeniable that the mass media exercises great influence on each individual. In the last century the American western movie wave prevailed around the world and made the jeans of cowboy a fashion in numerous countries. Today such influcence becomes more and more significant as the information technology advances and nobody can ever get escaped.

First of all, movies and television provide a great number of talk topics. In the restaurant or in the office, we can often hear people talking about some films, sports games and even political events. For example, people begin to focus on international weapon trade after they watch the movie “Lord of War”. As different people hold different opinions on weapon trade, quite often, a normal talk may become a debate or even a quarrel between friends or workmates. As we all know, a plenty of movies or TV programs were produced to reveal social problems, and such mass media is usually the source of people’s conversations during their spare time

Moreover, mass media sets examples to people and these examples can be either positive or negative. A case in point is that a large part of young people do not have critical minds to judge the world, in another word, they will accept and follow all they have been taught. Most freqently, the mass media plays the role of teaching. Movies like “Forrest Gump” tell young people how to face life and difficulties correctly and how to strive for success, and they inspire people through positive attitudes and ideas. By contrary, movies that are full of violence and sex often exert harmful impact on audience’s minds. Thus it is no longer hard to understand the fact that there are so many young men commited crimes simply because they desired to copy what they saw in movies.

Last but not least, mass media can call for social resonance. TV programs are able to shape the thinking of audience and make a resonance among people. In most cases, one’s emotion and thought strongly depends on what is seen and heard. For example, miserable scenes and background music are very likely to make people feel upset and sad. After the earthquake of Wenchuan, China, all the TV programs reported the latest news in the disaster area. Looking at the buildings clapsed to ground, injuried and homeless people and brave soldiers in rescue teams, people cannot stop their tear and sympathy. After watching the programs, countless people from all over the country donated money and clothes to refugees, and the whole nation became unprecedentedly united.

As a conlusion, movies and televisions nowadays do have direct influence on people’s behavior, from our daily conversation topics to our perceptions of this world. We have to accept it as one of the indispensable means for relax, entertainment and information in our lives.

The prevelance of movies and television open(opens, 主语是prevalance) a new page to our society, and it is undeniable that the mass media exercises great influence on each individual. In the last century the American western movie wave prevailed around the world and made the jeans of cowboy a fashion(不能make a fashion,可以用make a fashion trend, fashion style) in numerous countries. Today such influcence(influence) becomes more and more significant as the information technology advances and nobody can ever get escaped.

As we all know, a plenty of movies or TV programs were produced to reveal social problems, and such mass media(用 news, informations好点吧,mass media是大众传媒的意思) is usually the source of people’s conversations during their spare time

Moreover, mass media sets examples to people and these examples can be either positive or negative. A case in point is that a large part of young people do not have critical minds to judge the world(truth我不确定,我就是觉得world放在这里有点怪), in another word,(换句话说:in other words) they will accept and follow all they have been taught. Thus it is no longer hard to understand the fact that there are so many young men commited the crimes simply because they desired to copy what they saw in movies. (我觉得句子读起来不舒服,但我不知道怎么改)

Last but not least, mass media can call for social resonance. TV programs are able to shape the thinking of audience and make a resonance among people. In most cases, one’s emotion and thought strongly depends on what (s/he) is(has) seen and heard. For example, miserable scenes and background music are very likely to make people feel upset and sad.
