来自Norbury, South London的Libera是最近人气不断窜升的一支童声合唱团。libera起源于教堂唱诗班，早期音乐多是教堂圣歌的形式，给人一种宁静、圣洁的感觉。他们自1984年开始以‘St. philips boys choir’为团名录制唱片，88年发行了首张独立专辑 ‘sing for ever’。 1990年改团名为angel voices，从此时起，这个合唱团开始广为人知，1999年该团正式更改团名为'Libera'，并于华纳古典旗下Erato发行首张同名专辑'Libera'，以'自由'为中心概念，融合了恩雅(new age元素)、阿迪玛斯(电子节奏舞曲)、Enigma(葛利果圣歌取样)的新音乐形式，以少年合唱团(boys’choir)的教堂天籁之声呈现，而大部分歌词却是古拉丁祈文。 libera的音乐成功融合了童声音乐的天真纯朴，教堂音乐的静谥神秘还有new age的天籁缥缈，给人一种独特的听觉享受。Libera正以令人匪夷所思的魅力席卷欧、美、日本各地。 Libera还给许多电影演唱过电影‘Romeo and Juliet’、‘Hannibal’等插曲，Play Station2 的游戏演唱过主题曲。在英国古典乐电台‘song of praise’上也频频亮相，EMI唱片公司曾为Olympic雅典奥运会发行了一张古典音乐专辑“Harmony”，其中收录了Libera专辑‘Free’中的一首歌曲‘Voca Me’。这群来自英国拥有严格训练、超绝美声的天之骄子在突破传统、开创新犹之后，现今更进一步引领世界音乐的新潮流。'Libera'不只是少年合唱团，更是一种概念思维，一种音乐的创新语言。很难用一个现有的音乐风格去定义它，所以我们更趋向于用‘libera’这个词本身来定义他们的音乐风格。'Libera'为古典音乐开创了新境地，更呈现出未来的心灵解放图像。
