I am blessed to get wonderful parents in my life. Thus, it is easy for me to identify the qualities that make them good, that is, unconditional love, trust, and respect.
All mothers and fathers love their children, but not all the parents love their children unconditionally as my parents do. Some parents would not love their children any more if they marry some one in different religion or in different ethnic group. Some parents would not love their children if they have different sexual orientation. But my parents won't, they love me no matter whom I marry, whom I choose to love, and what kind of person I would be. My mother always say to me that they do care whether I can give them a comfortable living in the future or not, what they want is I can live a happy life. That is what unconditional love means, that is what I get from my parents, and that is what give me power to move any mountain.
Part of unconditional love is trust, my parents trust me will do what is right. They believe I can do the thing that I do not have confidence to accomplish at first. It is this trust gives me confidence to achieve higher and be stronger. I still remember, I used to fear of high to the extent that I can rarely get near to windows. But my father told me that he believe me can get over this weakness and will never let it be a arrest in my life. Thanks to my father's encouraging, I can enjoy the gorgeous view in the top of the mountain. Parents' trust gives me confidence to face any difficulties and to make any breakthrough.
Because my parents love me, they also respect me. They never confined my though, they readily to accept my difference, and they respect my choice and my decision. They do not expect me to be the person like them, they hope me to find the person who I really am, and the want me to find my way in the world, not follow in their footsteps. They are the cloud when I fly in the sky, they are the shoulder when I climb and they are my angels. I also remember, when I choose accounting to be my major, they respect my choice and do everything to support me. Even though my future career is totally different from my parents, my parents told me that they are pleased to know that I have set my own goal and find my own way. Thanks to my parents, I feel so comfortable to chase my dreams, even though I know that my dreams are not the same as they expected.
Without my parents' love, I would not be as confident as I am. Without my parents' trust, I would not be free to do what I want to do, or even do not dare to do. Without my parents' respect I would not feel comfortable being on my own. In the union of my parents' love I have seen, a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of heaven that saints and poets have imagined. I hope that every children in the world can have such wonderful parents as I do.
