019 Should governments spend more money on improving roads and highways, or should governments spend more money on improving public transportation (buses, trains, subways)? Why? Use specific reasons and details to develop your essay.


It is true that road and subway is the foundation of transportation, but when the problem comes to China, I think transportation should be spent more on. In most case, the transportation in China can not satisfy most of Chinese because of large population and lagging technology.

Of course, spending money on improving roads and highway is important. Speeding on the highways which are of high quality is  enjoyable. Also, good road, to certain extent, can improve the local economy. This is a common satiation in China, some village is full of fruit, but no way connects it to the fruit market, so that the fruit could not make any money. After a good road was completed, the fruit increases local economy a lot.


But, it is know that China owns the largest population in the world. Hence, more transportation is needed. At the every train station in China, especially when it is around spring festival, there is always a lot of people. Sometimes, policemen are needed to keep the order there. Furthermore, around the spring festival, the trains are so crowded that the ticket-owner may not get his seat. So, in order to ease the situation, spending more money on transportation, such as building more train or bus station, buying more planes, and fixing up old equipment, is a good decision.

Also, technology of transportation in China is lagging from developed countries. For example, we can not produce big plane. But in some countries, they have maintained this technology for several years. In order to catch up with these countries so that we can be independent, a lot of investment should be spent on transportation research. If not, I think China will depend on those counties for a long time, which means that we must cost a lot to buy their productions. This will not only do harm to our economy, but also is an obstacle of Chinese technology progress.

So, although investment on improving road and highways is a good investment, investment on technology is necessary and immediate.

2-有些词可能重复了，如investment, lagging
3-最好不要用there be句型
4-第四段but不能独立成一个分句，可改为nevertheless
5-各段如果加一个承接词，就更好了。比如 to begin with什么的
