161. People remember special gifts or presents that they have received. Why? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
I believe we remember special gifts because they link to part of the special memory in our lives. Gift can be a reminder of some special events that is important to us; gift can also be a reminder of some special person who we care deeply about; gift also can be a reminder of some special period of time that we have been through.
We remember the gift, first, because it severs as a connection to some special events. Gifts given to us as a part of our religious heritage remind us of those celebrations. The same is true for gifts given for birthdays and graduation. I can still remember the gifts I receive from my parents in my 18th birthday, a gorgeous card written: it is the time you start to determine your life. I can remember all the detail of this gift not only because this gift is from my parents but also it is a symbol of a new period of my lift. From then on, I start to find my goal and chase my dream. This gift tells me that in my hands, not in others, rest the final success of my course. Indeed, we do not choose to be born. We do not choose our parent. We do not choose our historical epoch of our birth, or the immediate of our upbringing. But within the realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we should live: courageously or in cowardice, honorable or dishonorable, with purpose or in drift. But no matter how indifferent the universe maybe to our choices and decisions. Forming our destiny is what ambition is about. All above is what I get from this special gift.
We remember the gift, second, because it link to the special person who mean something to us. The gift from our parents, husband or wife makes us feel love every time we look at it. If we have children, the first gift that our children make for us in kindergarten was a cherished long after the children have grown up. The gift from our best friend always reminds us the wonderful time we spend together. I have a lovely smiling bear; it is a gift I receive from my best friend. Every time I look at the smiling face of the bear I can remember what she said. She said that I should smile like this bear every day, no matter how many difficulty in front of me. She always says if we expect something turn out badly it probably will. The same principle also works in reverse, if we expect something good happen, it usually do. There seems to be an cause-and-effect relationship between optimism and effect. From this special friend, from this her gifts, I learn that if I hold the hopelessly optimistic ideas, great persistence, and unlimited confidence, I can tackle a problem that is big.
We remember the gift, finally, because it reminds us of our past. Every time we look at the toys in our childhood, we can remember the special hobby we have when we are a kid. Every time we see the gift we get from our high school, we can remember the time we spend with our teachers and classmates. Every time we look at the memento from a respected colleague, we remember the job we have taken.
Special gifts always play an important role in our memory. Gifts can represent some special events; gifts can also link to the person important to us; gifts also can remind us our past.
