People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experience, career preparation, increased knowlege) Why do you think people attend university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
With the development of our society and the improvement of living condition, an increasing number of people attend college or university to further their education. Some scholars hold that people attend college or university for new experiences; others believe that career preparation is more likely to be the reason, while someone else may insist that people go to college or university to acquire knowledge. However, as far as I am concerned, experience, career preparation, and knowledge all act as the reasons.
To begin with, college or university offers students with new experiences. Participating in various activities in colleges or universities would also be precious experiences. For example, students would broaden their horizon and obtain firsthand experience through a field trip. Besides, in the campus, people would have opportunities to make friends with their classmates and teachers. By communicate with each other, they could share their interests and their experiences. This would improve their characteristic, horn their interpersonal skill, and help to build solid friendship.
In addition, preparing for career might be the most practical and direct motivation for people to attend college or university. Anyone will tell you that job is a major problem in a person's life. Nonetheless, in job market, those who gradated from well-known university would have more advantages and therefore be more competitive than those who did not. In some specific professions, such as medicine, only by receiving a requested training or education can one be qualified to work as a doctor. Under this circumstance, going to medical college even become a necessity.
Also, by attending college or university people can learn more and obtain more knowledge. My friend Grey is a good case in this point. She had already got a satisfied job two years ago. Nevertheless, she gave up her job and attended Wuhan University as a physic student this year. Why? She told me that quantum mechanism had a fascination for her and she was eager to acquire relevant knowledge. Indeed, universities or colleges, which equipped with libaries, up-to-date teaching facilities, advanced laboratories, and qualified faculties, would provide ideal atmosphere for their students and enable them to learn more about the area they interested in.
For all these reasons, we can safely draw the conclusion that people attend college or university in the purpose of having new experiences, preparing for their occupations, and getting access to more knowledge.
