Boston tea party

On the evening of the decemper 16, 1773, a group of Amarican patriots went to the Boston harbor, the man were dressed as Mohawk Indians, and boarded(登上) three british vessels. the beaver, the Eleanor and the Dartmouth of East Indian Company. After they boarded the docked(停泊) ships, they dumped（倾倒） all the tea that was on the three ships, which a mount of 45 tons. All 342 chests, was a value of ten thousand pounds. Into the ocean, you must be asking yourself why on earth this grown man(成人) would dumped all that tea in the water. Let’s back up and strat from the beganing and discover, what led to this interestiong chapter in the Amarican history. It all began when the British East Indian Company had a total control of the tea trade(贸易) bewteen indian and british colonies. To offset(补偿) this domination(控制) of tea. The colonies would smuggle(走私) their tea from holland. As result of the tea at the 1773, which was passed by parliament(议会) to save the british east indian company from bankruptcy. The colonies refused by britished tea. The tea act basiclly eliminated all taxes on tea and offer the Amaricans tea at a lower prise. Then that of colonial smuggles. this tea act was put in place to saves the british east indian company from bankruptcy sea. But would cause the colonail smugglers to go out the business. Because the patriots feared the tea act would create an illegal(非法) monopoly(垄断) , they discouraged(不鼓励) people from importing tea. Fairing that some people would continue to buy their tea in British East Indian Company bucause it was so cheap. The patriots took control by taking matters into there own hands. The patriot decided to reject(refuse) tea shipments and they demanded(request) the tea ships be permitted(allow) to retern to England without paying the duty require by law. Over 5000 townspeople on the boston and serrounding towns gathered(聚集) at old south meeting house to beg the gavornor to sent ships to back England. However, the gavornor refused and it was on the night of the December 16 that 60 man dressed Mohark Indians went over to the boston harbor and boarded the ships and dumped of the tea into the boston harbor. Needless to say, parliament was furious(动怒) and react by closing the boston harbor, this event was just beginning of a long clash(冲突) bewteen England and colonies.2 @+ E4 Y) l7 T- V
