Do you agree or disagree with the following statement. For someone who wants to be successful in the society, knowledge gained from study is more important than the ability of being creative.
I totally disagree with the statement that knowledge gained from study is more important than the ability of being creative.
In my opinion, only people who are full of creative ideas can propel the society toward. Here is the example to indicate how important to be creative is. We cannot deny that China is one of the oldest countries all over the world, but it is not the best one. The biggest problem is that the Chinese culture did not develop from couple hundred years ago. Let’s back to 5th century. At that time, people were very proud of Confucius and his conversation, the Analects. So people all tried to accept and imitate his concept. But in fact, they did not propel the culture toward. Fortunately, few people still used their own minds to create theories and concepts, which made a lot of creation, so this is why China has a lot of great creations which are couple hundred years earlier than the Europe. However, after that period time, people were trying to compile history and imitating what people did in the history instead of creating things. Because nobody created new things, Chinese science stopped improving until the new China formed. We can say that, for a country, if it dose not have a group of creative people, it will be invaded; for a person, if he does not have a creative mind, he will not succeed in the society. So, to have the ability of being creative is much more useful than to gain knowledge from study.
The education system of American is another good example to improve this opinion. In American, when teachers gave us the assignment, they usually like us to do some search online and create our own thoughts. The problem always does not just have a single way to solve; the key is to use the specific thought to describe what your opinion is. Sometimes, this kind of homework seems very easy to complete, but though the process of searching and creation, students get the knowledge that creation is very useful for their careers. That can explain why American can create plenty great contemporary things without basing on a long history. This fact tells us that we can still get technology, which is very necessary in this modern time without learning from the old knowledge. In fact, we definitely don’t need a person who just knows the things from text books. So this is why a lot of Chinese students can not go to a good college even though they pass the text and receive a high score, because of lacking creative mind.
To be a creative person is much harder than to be a good student who learn all things from text book, because you have to know the basic thing and try to propel it toward to create your own thing. According to the fact, we can indicate that the society needs creative people to improve. So the ability of being creative is much more necessary than the ability of gaining knowledge from study.
