020 It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to develop your essay.
In the last decades, advances in economy and society have made it more possible for people to live and to bring up their children in big cities than in the past. Each and every person has his or her own opinion on where is better for children to grow up. Some prefer to big cities, while others prefer to the countryside. As far as I am concerned, although growing up in the countryside has some merits, big city can provide much better environment.
To begin with, children growing up in big city are able to get more new information and contact the latest technology production. A resent investigation conducted by a group of educationalists and psychologists has shown that development in intelligence and character of children mainly stop at the age of seven. And kinds of information and varies of novelties play an important role in children’s intelligence development. In big cities, there are great more opportunities to familiar with computer, surf the internet, meet or listen to a lecture of famous people. All above will provide enough amount of information. From this aspect, big city is a visible choice to bring up children.
In addition, another crucial factor for children growing is the quality of education. Frankly speaking, in my country most of good schools locate in big cities. Fundamental education not only teaches children fields of knowledge but also lead them to be a good person at least. Also, experienced teachers are bound to show children how to study by themselves efficiently, which will be very useful in their future. When they grow up,
children from cities also have a much higher chance of getting into excellent universities because universities have rage numbers of spaces reserved for local residents while they have relatively fewer spaces for students from the countryside. In this point of view, children living in big cities can receive better education.
Admittedly, countryside has its own merits for children such as healthier living style, none pollution environment and more leisure time to play. To some extent, in the countryside children will be happier, while in big city they are more able to adapt the society. However, in this period and society, the advantages of growing up in big city carry more weight than that of advantages of cultivating in the countryside, so the most striking conclusion is obvious.
To sum up, taking in to account of all the above statement, we should safely draw the conclusion that growing up children in big city contains more merits than in the countryside, thus be a good choice.
